So this last week I went to see The Avengers. I ha heard countless rave reviews, and I’m a huge comic book nerd so I wanted to see for myself. The Avengers broke the weekend box office record for most money made their opening weekend. Crazy. I guess the whole comic book genre is catching on everywhere. Anyway, I had a few issues with this movie; first off, it only had two (three if you include miss potts brief cameo) females in the whole movie. The black widow, who I find bland and a S.H.I.E.L.D agent played by Cobie Smulders. Second, waaaayyy too much action. The film could have easily been trimmed down. It was two and a half hours of pure fight scenes and no romance at all. Every movie needs a little action and little action. Anyway, I just don’t really like all the characters. Captain America is really not that cool, Black Widow has no powers, Hawkeye is also boring. I like Iron Man and Thor and I suppose the Hulk is cool just cuz he’s indestructible. But in terms of cool superhero’s I prefer mutants like the X-Men and Spiderman. This movie lacked depth and I just found it disappointing. However see for yourself you might enjoy all the constant explosions. Also make sure you watch til the very end to see a glimpse of who I’m guessing will be the big bad in the Avengers sequel, Thanos.
